Over the last 27 years, Geertrui Mieke De Ketelaere has worked for several multinationals on all aspects of data, analytics and AI (IBM, Microsoft, SAP, SAS & imec). She holds a master degree in civil and industrial engineering and specialised in robotics and AI during her studies in 1992.

In her public motivational presentations and debates, Mieke puts the focus on the demystification of the hype around AI and on the needed trustworthy multi-disciplinary approach. In 2018 and 2020, she was recognised for her continuous efforts in the domain of diversity & inclusion with a nomination as “ICT Woman of the Year” and a selection in the “Inspiring 50”.

Mieke is often requested as human AI translator and advisor, by both public and private companies. Today, she is splitting her time between the international promotion of her new book (operated under her company Naixis), and her role as Strategic Director AI Solutions at IDLab, the biggest AI research lab at imec.
